UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE is currently undergoing its first phase of renovation, and is working on new and exciting content. We hope that through this content, you will also reflect on the feelings and emotions surrounding wedding ceremonies, which we Japanese have treasured and nurtured since ancient times. In the past, the Noh play "Takasago" was sung at wedding ceremonies to celebrate marital harmony and a long and happy life. The wish for a life of supporting each other as we spend time together still lives in our hearts. We hope that visitors will be able to experience a new appreciation for Japanese spiritual culture and the preciousness of family and human bonds through this "Japanese Traditional Bridal Procession."

The tree sculpture was inspired by a folding screen painting by Edo period painter Hasegawa Tōhaku. It captures the depth of classical painting from a modern perspective, expressing the beautiful contrast between the powerful vitality of the tree and the transience of the supple flowers, as well as the changing of the seasons. Based on the theme of the Tree of Time, it is a tree that serves as the axis of the story, symbolizing the "flow of time" that connects the past, present, and future. By standing in the grounds of UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE, where history and stories overlap, it is our hope that the tree will bring together the memories and imaginations of each viewer and inspire them to embark on a new story.
