"A memorial corner for Isao Harimoto" (starting October 21)
Harimoto joined Toei Flyers in 1959. With his outstanding batting skills, combined with power and speed, he excelled as a hitter and etched his name in the team's history as a key player.
In 1962, he experienced the team's first-ever Japan Series championship and was one of the key figures who supported the golden age of Toei Flyers.
This exhibition will feature the 1962 championship flag, newspapers reporting on the victory at the time, a video documenting Toei Flyers' championship win titled "Toei Championship, Jersey Number 100," and Harimoto's batting statistics by year.
The exhibition will also feature posters from Toei-distributed films in which Harimoto appeared after his retirement, showcasing his connections with Toei that extend beyond the baseball world.
Toei Flyers' championship victory is a significant event that graces not only the baseball world but also the history of Toei. On the occasion of "100 Years of Uzumasa Jidaigeki (period drama)," we look back on the footsteps of Mr. Harimoto, who walked alongside Toei, and pass on his achievements to the next generation. We also express our heartfelt gratitude and condolences to Mr. Harimoto, who gave dreams and inspiration to so many people over the years.
