This time, our web magazine reporting team will bring you an early look at the charms of the newly started summer event, "UZUMASA BONDANCE FESTIVAL BON DANCE FESTIVAL."
This event, which started on July 18th, is divided into two parts: the first part, "Dancing with Kyoto?", and the second part, "Dancing with Yokai?". This time, we'll introduce the atmosphere of the venue, the event itself, and the delicious food, while enjoying the first part, "Dancing with Kyoto?", together with the film crew.
It's 7 PM, the sun has set, and a cool evening breeze is blowing. As you step into UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE, you can hear lively music coming from the back.
Following the sound, we arrived at Otemon Square, where the Bon Odori dance, the main event of the "BON DANCE FESTIVAL," had begun. The rows of food stalls and the shining pine tree standing in the center of the square were eye-catching.
A "facility usage ticket" is required to use the food stalls. Tickets can be purchased individually at the sales booth in Otemon Square and at some shops within in the park.
Even if you don't use it all at the food stalls, you can use it at various facilities within UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE, so there's no need to worry.
We immediately used our facility tickets to tour the food stalls. From the many foods available, here are just a few examples.

Torisei, which also has a store on Karasu Street in UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE, is offering a special menu for the "BON DANCE FESTIVAL." The original spices sprinkled on top as a finishing touch are the key to its deliciousness.
Furthermore, a "ninja-shaped fried snack" modeled after a shuriken is also scheduled to be released soon. I'm looking forward to that as well.

Grilled corn made with Kyoto's brand corn, "Kyoto Mai Corn," and the staff's recommended "Jerk Chicken"! Both are grilled on the spot and served fresh, so they're fragrant and delicious.
・Shaved ice (image above)

Of course, shaved ice, a summer staple, is also on the menu. You can choose up to three types of syrup, and the recommended flavor is muscat grape. Shaved ice is sold at various stores, so if you see it, be sure to order some.
We have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, including beer.

This is a truly summery event where you can enjoy Bon Odori (traditional Japanese dance) in an Edo period townscape, with 80s city pop playing in the background, while sipping delicious food and beer. Furthermore, various special guests are scheduled to appear on certain days, so there's plenty to see and do.
It's not just Otemon Square that's decorated for the "BON DANCE FESTIVAL." You can enjoy summery scenery all over in the park.
After enjoying the lively atmosphere of the town square, we recommend taking a leisurely stroll through in the park and soaking up the tranquility of a summer night.
Taking a photo on the bridge with the illuminated umbrellas as a backdrop will make for a truly special picture.
For this time of year when the heat lingers even after sunset, we recommend the "UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE fan." Not only is it great for keeping cool, but you can also enjoy it in various ways, such as taking photos with it or tucking it into your yukata obi (sash).
