Kyomai Shinozuka School, Zuiou Shinozuka
He studied under the late 6th headmaster, Master Baisen Shinozuka.
Graduated from Doshisha Women's University, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Department of Music, Vocal Performance Major.
She has appeared in various performances, including the "Kyomai Shinozuka-ryu no Kai" at the Pontocho Kaburenjo, the "Kyo no Kai" at the Kobu Kaburenjo, and recitals at the National Bunraku Theatre.
In addition to monthly lessons in Kyoto, Tokyo, and Taipei (Taiwan), she is also involved in movement instruction and choreography for operas such as Puccini's "Madama Butterfly" and the Japanese opera "Okonjoruri," as well as giving special lectures, conferences, and Kyoto dance experience classes at institutions such as Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, Soochow University in Taiwan, the University of London in the UK, and the National Museum of Oriental Art in Nice, France.
Instructor for Kyoto City Arts and Culture Association's summer art experience classes, citizen cultural lectures, and cultural experience at UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE.
What is the Shinozuka School of Kyomai?
The Shinozuka school of Kyomai dance originated in Kyoto during the Bunka and Bunsei eras of Edo period. Its style is said to be, "Stretch your arms as far as they can go, and stretch your legs as far as they can go."
