Instructor Profile
Ikenobo Kado (flower arrangement) artist, Yusuke Takabayashi
Born in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Influenced by her father and grandfather, who made a living from Kado (flower arrangement)), she began seriously pursuing the art of Kado (flower arrangement) in 2010. Since 2023, she has been a researcher at the Ikenobo Central Training Institute, the head school Kado (flower arrangement).
In 2017, she spoke at the Kyoto University Field Science Education and Research Center's Social Collaboration Symposium, where she gave a lecture and demonstrated ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement).
Her works will be exhibited twice at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai World Expo. She is also involved in cultural promotion as a member of the Kyoto Prefecture's "Kyoto Culture Promotion Council."
Currently, she teaches and instructs Kado (flower arrangement) (flower arrangement) at Doshisha University, Kyoto Kohka University, Kyoto University of Arts and Crafts, Kyoto Kohka Junior High School, and other institutions.
Furthermore, she conducts Kado (flower arrangement) (Japanese flower arrangement) instruction and promotion activities overseas, including in the United States and Taiwan, and is committed to passing on and promoting traditional culture to the next generation both domestically and internationally.
