Story

Deep in the prop warehouse at Toei Kyoto Studios, there was a doll. It had been treasured by a child actor who died during filming. After that, whenever someone tried to use the doll, accidents and illnesses abounded, so it eventually came to be known as the "cursed doll," and no one wanted to use it again. Several decades later, the new manager of UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE proposed using the doll in a haunted house. Since few people who remembered the original story remained, no one opposed. However, after the doll was installed, strange phenomena began to occur. People could hear voices even though no one was there, there were signs of someone walking around in the middle of the night, and the doll's eyes moved... Suspicious, the staff investigated, and eventually discovered the taboo from decades ago. This doll was a doll that should not have been used. The staff member who realized this attempted to remove the doll. However, that night, he developed a high fever and was bedridden. Another staff member attempted to remove the doll, but suffered an accident and was hospitalized. Any attempt to remove the doll always resulted in disaster. At a loss, the staff decided to ask a psychic for help. After seeing the doll, the psychic said, "This checkered doll cannot be put away unless its eyes are covered." However, the psychic continued, "The cloth that covers the doll's eyes must be soaked in sacred water from a certain mountain. However, that water has dried up..." "So, what should we do?" After much deliberation, the psychic made a suggestion. "A few years ago, a ghostly female doll in a haunted house went on a rampage. We must have covered the ghostly doll's eyes at that time. What if we temporarily removed that cloth and used it to cover the eyes of this checkered doll?" The staff nodded in agreement. But who on earth would carry out that task? Profile

Hirofumi Gomi

Haunted House Producer Hirofumi Gomi

In 1992, he created "Maro Akaji's Panorama Mystery House" at Korakuen Amusement Park (now Tokyo Dome City Attractions), and since then he has been creating haunted houses for about 30 years, totaling over 100.
By bringing back the "cast" to the haunted house, the original fun has been revived, and by adding the elements of "story" and "mission," it has been transformed into entertainment that adults can enjoy.
His representative works include "Panorama Mystery House - Baby Hell," a haunted house where you walk around holding a baby; "City A Near Tokyo - The Cursed House," which is a real abandoned house that was relocated; "The Scary Black Hair House," where you progress by combing the hair of a ghost; "The House of Leg-Cutting," where you experience the experience of taking off your shoes; and "The House of Finger-Picking," where you make a pinky promise with the dead.
His books include "Why are people scared?" (Media Factory), "Why do people line up at haunted houses? - Business planning ideas that attract customers through fear" (Kadokawa One Theme 21), the novel "Possessed Teeth - The House of Mitsu No. 7" (Gentosha Bunko), and the novel "The Woman with Cursed Hair Connecting to Fear" (Gakken Plus).
