"One-Day UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE" "One-Day UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE"

As an experiment in preparation for the opening of UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE Toei Studios Kyoto / Toei Kyoto Studios was opened for one day as a "One Day UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE."
The event recorded an attendance of approximately 20,000 people.

Toei UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE open

After days of construction under pressure and rain, the building finally opened on November 1st.
As the tide of people surged in, the anxiety and tension suddenly turned into great joy.
Over 70,000 people attended the event in the first three days after opening.

The first mascot character.
At the time of its unveiling, it did not yet have a name, but the following year it was decided to be named "Kantaro."

New facilities that will become famous attractions of UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE, such as Otemon, Nakamuraza, Oshirosu set, and glass stage, will all open at the same time.

"Tightrope Ninja" appears

He appeared to promote "The Conspiracy of the Yagyu Clan," a joint production by Toei and UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE. He became a beloved ninja.

The first generation "Chin Chin Train" appears

In order to preserve the Kyoto City Tram, which was completely abolished at the end of September that year, one 1800-type car was purchased and put on public display. The car was brought in through Otemon early in the morning.

Dreamland "Miniland" completed

The elaborately animated miniature world was a big hit and was the highlight of the year.

The second generation "Chin Chin Train" appears on Meiji Street

The first generation Kyoto City Tram, the 1800 series, was retired due to aging. It was replaced by a new restored Kyoto City Tram, the oldest N-train. It remains a popular photo spot.

The first generation "Chin Chin Train" appears

It was built as a monument to the 5th anniversary of the opening of the village. Reliefs of 50 classic films from around the world selected by UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE decorate the surrounding area. *The photo shows the building before the reliefs were installed.

The second mascot, "Kachinta," is born

The first generation "Chin Chin Train" appears

To commemorate the village's 5th anniversary, the second mascot character, "Kachinta," was born. He is active as the "Kachinta Family" with his younger brother, "Rokesuke," and his girlfriend, "App-chan."

New "Film Culture Hall" completed

To commemorate the 7th anniversary of the village's founding, the "Film Culture Museum" was reborn as a magnificent three-story steel-framed building, exhibiting many valuable film documents.

"SFX Chamber Land" opens

Trees move, and a huge amount of water gushes out from the rocky mountain. Then, for some reason, a monster suddenly appears. For about 18 years, this place has been a popular spot.

The most terrifying haunted house "Naraku no Dweller" opens

With actors playing ghosts and Toei 's art staff handling the interior design, the most terrifying haunted house, "Naraku no Dweller," was born, truly bringing together all Toei 's film direction and technology. It has become one of the most famous haunted houses in Japan.

"Goriyaku Land" opens

To celebrate the release of the film "Possession," "SFX Chamber Land" has been renovated into "Goriei Land." The surrealism of "Goriei Daimyojin," which suddenly appears from the rocky mountain, is something that never fails to make you laugh, no matter how many times you see it.

The largest renovation since the village opened has been carried out.

Three new attractions have opened: the Ninja Escape Room, which is still one of the most popular attractions in UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE as well as the Anime Museum and the Ukiyo-e Museum.
A new gate called "Satsueisho Entrance" has also been opened, providing convenient access from JR Uzumasa Station.

"Evangelion Kyoto Base" Grand Opening

The world's first rideable Evangelion Unit-01 will appear at UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE. It will be a hugely popular attraction for inbound tourists and become the new face of UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE.

Ahead of the renovation UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE scheduled for spring 2026, Jidaigeki (period drama) set, which boasts a history of approximately 50 years, has been completely renovated.

The first phase of the fully renovated UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE park area opens

UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE will undergo a complete renovation in stages over a period of approximately five years, from 2024 to 2028. The first phase of the park will open in the spring of 2026. We hope you will look forward to the new UZUMASA KYOTO VILLAGE.
